Queen Mother's Birthday Awards for Environmental Improvements.

The Queen Mother allowed her name to be used for three awards - horses, nursing and the Tidy Britain Group for Environmental Improvements, and every single award has to be approved by Clarence House.

Peter Barn was the proud recipient of a Special Mention Award which provide regional recognition of contributions to local environmental improvement work.The award rewards energy conservation, waste minimisation, encouragement of wildlife, use of local produce and recycling.

"This small owner-operated business has made every effort, physically and financially to address environmental issues, including energy conservation, waste management, recycling, water usage minimisation, encouraging wildlife. Local produce is purchased and packet food is avoided, to minimise waste."
